If the Bra Fits Wear It

Natalie G

How can Natalie drive the ball with her ample décolletage, maybe she’s wearing the proper support?

I find the biggest challenge isn’t teeing up but getting the hell out of my lingerie drawer while my friends are waiting for me to get out the door, what bra should I be wearing? I know it sounds silly and all, considering that I have dressed many actress’s over the years, so I decided to call upon an industry specialist I have worked with on many films. With 25 years of fitting experience, Vasilia owner of Avec Plaisir spent some time enlightening me on the latest technology on bras specifically designed for golf! Most of the bras come from Europe, these companies have produced fine women’s undergarments for a very long time.

I really like the Energy bra from Marie Jo they have a great range of bras that have been perfected for 3 ranges of sport, one of them being golf. The Energy bra has a soft under-wire for support, breathable fabric to keep the girls cool, comes in an very large size range from B to a F and 2 colour choices, peach & black. Checkout the companies website, it’s really great and well designed.

Another option is the Gemma Tess bra, it has a padded shoulder strap, seamless cup and has a pretty fine netting over the cup. It has a great size range also from regular sizes to full figure.

The key to remember is comfort, fit and breath-ability. Forget Victoria’s Secret, if you have the opportunity go for a proper bra fitting, trust me you will never look back! You only look down and think wow, they are looking superfine.

If you are in Toronto check out Avec Plaisir  they have some fabulous lingerie and swimwear.

Golf Fore the Cure!

As I reported earlier Chip Chic Golf sponsored a corporate team at the Golf Fore the Cure National Event held this past Monday at the Toronto Ladies Club (the only private women’s club in North America!) The event was a truly excellent experience from registration, good swag, the RCGA staff and volunteers, a lunch & dinner to be remembered. The playing field involved 150 female players from novice to pro. This event provides something for each player.

Each group was treated to a team photograph with Alena Sharp, then of course for a worthy donation each player could compete with Alena for the closest to the pin shot. My team came close but Alena came closer, next year, my friend, I’ll ace it!

Talking about goals, the Golf Fore the Cure program has raised $459,206, this year the event has set a goal at $550,000. With the amazing stories shared that evening at dinner, I know this event will exceed this years goal to support the best research for breast cancer in Canada.

Second to the cause, Chip Chic Golf debuted part of the upcoming Spring/ Summer 2009 designs - the ‘Clearly Yours Collection’.

I recruited the services of our in-house male model Raymond. I think he enjoyed entertaining the ladies, but he froze his ___ off. Opps, sorry Ray! I promise next time it won’t be the hot pink speedo.

I know it sounds very gushy, but this event was perfect to the tee! Chip Chic Golf is in for next year.

Thanks to my team: Dawn Lewis, Courtney Billing & Erica Westeroth

Ahhh Golf

OR

Ahhh Spring

We finally have the weather I love here in Toronto. I have 2 choices today, to hold a golf club in my hand or my best pair of pruning shears. For many of you I know that the golf club would be the hands down choice, I’m struggling as I know my rose bush’s need pruning and I enjoy gardening in this perfect spring weather. There is always next weekend to get on the green and my rose’s will thank me by mid June.

Where shall I play next weekend? Not a course too challenging for the first time out this season. Hmm maybe Taboo? Sure.

Have a fabulous day playing golf! Think of me while your teeing off.

My Shoes, My Joy!

Picture 3

My shoe fetish covers all facets of my wardrobe including my golf shoes. Foot Joy offers a customized look and choice of various design details The My Joy golf shoe collection. offers 3 choices, ‘Dry Joys’ which are a waterproof shoe with a more narrow fit, #2 ‘The Spikeless Shoe’ (it’s really spikeless? ) and #3 The Contour Series which has a fit that is similar to a running shoe. Their site is very user friendly and walks you through each step with pictures as you add personalized touches to ‘your’ shoes. They even offer embroidery details such as a 4 leaf clover, skull and lightning bolt. Hm-mm no lightning bolt, that’s asking for bad luck on a rainy day.

Once your creation is complete you have to direct the order through your local golf store or pro shop. The production time-line is around 3 weeks.

I’m working on choosing my first pair with elements of the Chip Chic Golf logo colors. Thank god they don’t offer the rainbow of Pantone chips! I wouldn’t have the shoes until November.

Lela

As the weather becomes warmer, my thoughts turn to what I will be wearing this season on the golf course. In my search for upcoming shows that Chip Chic Golf will be participating in for the buying season, I have connected with Lela Designs. A fellow Canadian company I admire, not only for their fashion forward approach in their quality garments but for their green sense. Lela Designs works in ‘environmentally milled fabrics’ , that are manufactured in Canada.

I know you’re asking, ‘But what about the clothes?’ Totally hot, sexy and made out of great fibers! What more can you ask for? With a roster of LPGA players wearing the line, will you be next? I know, I will be.

A Movie Review: The Foursome

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Movie
After a busy week on a film project I’m working on I decided to rent a movie and put my feet up for the evening. I rented “The Foursome”.Golf, comedy, cocktails what could go wrong? Lately I’ve had bad luck choosing anything from Blockbuster.

The premise of the tale is a high school reunion with 4 friends playing a couple rounds of golf, while their wives jog, go to the spa and gossip about each other. The most entertaining part of the movie is a golf blessing recited by a character we don’t even get introduced to, I had to share it as I thought it was very funny:

“Our father who art in Augusta, Nicklaus be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, On greens as it’s in fairways, Give us this day our share of birdies, And forgive us our gimmes, As we forgive those who gimme against us, Lead us not into the deep rough, And deliver us from sand-traps, For we drive for power, And putt for glory, Forever and ever. Amen!”

This small scene was the hi-light while the rest of the movie you can easily forgo - that time would be better put to use like reviewing how many balls you have in your bag. I’m usually supportive of Canadian film, but this gets a Chip Chic rating of: 0 chip’s out of 4!(o being the worst - 4 being a movie with some sort of redeeming quality)

The Turf Caddy

While checking out the Toronto Star Golf  Show this weekend I ran across the most awesome golf caddy! As you can see I’m so excited, I can finally put my motorcycle lessons to use ( I actually passed my license exam but never actually bought a bike.) The Turf Chopper was created by Bridgeburg Golf. It felt very safe to drive, the center of gravity is low so you don’t feel like your going to tip over - for those challenging area’s on the cart path there is also reverse. I envision a pink frame & pink seat with the Chip Chic Golf logo on the front.

Bridgeburg Golf will let you try out the cart on a nine-hole golf course that is right next door to their manufacturing plant! I’m there as soon as snow melts on the green. This is definatley on my want list.
