The Donald & Scotland

It seems that there be more fescue than the Donald’s hair with the approval of his beyond golf resort near Abeerden. The complex will be 1,400 acres , 2 courses, hotel & houses. It took two years of bitter  battling between environmentalists, government & local residents.

Not unlike Mr Trump it is said that he ’steamrolled’  to get the approval in the two year battle. It’s a hard fight, the golf mecca will bring jobs & investment to the area but the area chosen is part of the Scottish wild life trust. I have been to Scotland and it is a beautiful place, one can only hope that the project stays within the boundaries that have been agreed upon. Many conservationists have commented that any developing will damage birds & wildlife indigenous to the area.

Is there not enough golf courses in Scotland? I think the Donald should think of conservation vs 2 courses & massive structures.

The next question will be, who could actually afford to golf there? I love golf but sometimes I like the environment more. Many have commented that by the time construction starts the global cash crunch might be the only blessing to halt the project.

Ole! Tequila & The Tee

mm Beer

As we move into the next major for the LPGA, The Corona Championship in Morelia, Mexico I’m excited to report of fellow Canadian amateur’s & pro playing the upcoming event! Reporting from the tee’s Lianne Ritchie will tell us what’s happening at Tres Marias GC for the exciting Pro-Am scramble, lead by team leader Lorie Kane.

The team consists of: Mary Kraus, Sharon Montgomery-Greenwood, Lana Bertram & Lianne Ritchie and team leader Lorie Kane. I can’t wait to tell you about the Pro Am ( 5 some scramble) , what the players are wearing and build up to the tournament. Look for Tequila & Lime stories from the road or should I say Corona? Hmm, both are satisfying beverages!

Snow Day, Snow Day, Snow Day…

Snow Dat

I do really like the snow, and even though they say no two snow flakes are alike it’s all looking the same to me now - I’ve had enough and I’m not going to take it anymore! At least going to the driving range makes it feel like spring is around the corner and the fact that the clocks sprang forward, this weekend, gives me a shred of hope! Unfortunately, I doubt I will be standing at the tee’s anytime soon.

We managed to go away to St. Maarten on a beach vacation. Even though there was only one golf course on the island, it’s one more then is available to me now! The appeal of the 37 beaches was the big draw for me along with ‘the’ best bikini shopping in the Caribbean. The french side of the island was fabulous but being an island, everything is imported almost daily from France - except the sun and the sand.

Speaking of sand, check out my golf video I shot while I was at St. Maarten…
